Spare Parts is looking for artists in Brisbane!

Hi everyone!

I am looking for submissions from local Brisbane artists who might be willing to do some artwork on pre-loved prosthetics legs for me. I have a few sitting in the shed that I would like to put to good use.

The deal is – I want to sell them off for my favourite prosthetic charity COPE. They are based in Laos, and for USD50 they can make someone a brand new below knee prosthetic leg, and for a few dollars more, above knee legs and arms. They also provide wheelchairs, physio and more.

I want artworks that can be posted easily to buyers if need be (so no intricate breakable attachments). Artwork itself must not have anything gory or macabre on it.

I only have below the knee prosthetic legs to use. I do not have any arms this time and will not be collecting anything additional for this.

Artists MUST be in Brisbane because I do not want to pay for postage to get the legs to anyone.

I plan on selling them at about $200 each + postage/delivery. There is NO money in this for the artist, it is simply a nice fun project to raise a bit of money for some amputees who have very little.

(note, normally Spare Parts ensures artists make money from sales, but this time it is just for charity)
